Bespoke 1:1 Psychotherapy informed Pilates Sessions

There is increasing understanding of how our life stories are held in our bodies. This may relate to the work we have done, the postures we have adopted, or trauma we have gone through. Our body has experienced and been through all of our life and therefore connecting with our body can be hugely beneficial for our awareness. This can enable us to correct our posture and alignment and work with muscle imbalances, as well as potentially notice areas of held tension or blocks and consider why and how they have built up. This process can help us process some of our life experiences and connect to our story and move forward. If you are interested in using Pilates in this way, to help you, please get in touch as Pippa has a wealth of experience to integrate into your bespoke Psychotherapy informed Pilates sessions.

Pippa has provided sessions at Sheffield Women’s Counselling and therapy Service (SWCTS) for women recovering from the impact of trauma and abuse and has worked as a Pilates teacher for South Yorkshire Eating Disorders Service. In addition, Pippa has worked as a specialist Physiotherapist in pain management at Sheffield Children’s Hospital integrating Pilates into her treatment plans.

Pippa has also worked as a Psychotherapist in private practice for over 6 years where she has integrated body awareness, basic Pilates and breathing techniques into her sessions with positive feedback from clients.

In your first session time will be spent assessing your specific needs and goals and a plan formulated with you. Sessions are then tailored around you and your goals and go at a pace that feels right for you. They are 1 hour long and can include both floor work and small and large equipment including the Reformer or Cadillac.

Testimonial - John (Derbyshire)

I went to Pippa with chronic back pain, really the result of 12 years of mobility issues which were a consequence of a 5-month hospital stay. Pippa has worked patiently and diligently with me to such an extent that I can say my life is utterly transformed. My back problems are a thing of the past, my mobility, strength, balance and proprioception are massively improved and continue to get better. I am also more confident and more psychologically and spatially aware as a result of practice and discussions with Pippa. She is a sensitive, knowledgeable and inspirational teacher.
